An Executive Director's Perspective on Community Construction
November 26, 2024
During the 2024 LeadingAge Annual Meeting, our Founder, Lucas McCurdy, had the opportunity to sit down with Nate Weyand, Executive Director of Querencia at Barton Creek, on an episode of Bridge the Gap to reflect on their experience working together on a recent renovation project. Nate's experience working with The Bridge Group Construction reflects our commitment to creating solutions tailored for senior living communities, especially in the complexities of working within occupied spaces. Sharing his appreciation for our approach, Nate explained, "What I appreciate about The Bridge Group and how they approach things – their focus on senior living and working in occupied space. It's a unique experience."
One of the most challenging aspects of senior living renovations is ensuring minimal disruption to residents. Nate shared how The Bridge Group prioritized phasing construction thoughtfully, balancing progress with resident comfort. "They made sure that we're not displacing them longer than necessary and really phasing things as we need to, to make sure that we come out with a good end product," he noted. For Nate, the experience with The Bridge Group Construction was not just about completing a project but about working with a team that understood the unique needs of senior living communities and the importance of resident-focused solutions.
